Jointer Safety Test

Directions:

Directions:
Read each statement carefully and decide if it is True or False. Be sure to answer all questions. When finished, enter your FIRST AND LAST NAME along with your teacher's email address and click the submit button.

6. The guard should be covering the cutterhead even when the machine is not operating.

7. Do not place your hand within 12 inches of the cutterhead.

8. Stand directly behind the path of the board when cutting.

9. Jointing boards with nails or staples sticking out is allowed.

10. Run the board half way through and lift the board up.

11. Material should be pulled through the jointer.

12. Concave side should be face down when jointer.

13. A push stick is never needed.

14. The infeed table should be lowered 1 inch per passing cut.

15. Removal of chips and sawdust should be done when the power is off and the cutterhead has completely stopped.
