Wood Lathe Safety Test

Directions:

Directions:
Read each statement carefully and decide if it is True or False. Be sure to answer all questions. When finished, enter your FIRST AND LAST NAME along with your teacher's email address and click the submit button.

6. Remove jewelry, neckties, loose clothing, and confine long hair.

7. Reach over the stock while it is spinning.

8. Do not clamp the tailstock to allow for stock expansion.

9. Perform roughing and beginning cuts at high speeds.

10. Make sure the stock clears the tool rest prior to beginning.

11. Adjust the tool rest while the stock is still spinning.

12. Set the tool rest 1/4 of an inch from the stock, and 1/8 of an inch above the center of the stock.

13. Hold the tools loosely against the tool rest.

14. Remove the tool rest for all sanding operations.

15. Tools should be left on the bed while in operation.
